Urban Zulu embodies the ideal of the Urban Heaven. Inspired by the spiritual, connected to the beauty and texture of the physical. We specialise in ready-to-wear clothing, as well as bespoke clothing and accessory designs. Our hallmark is originality, based on existing trends, and our distinct design style.
I was tasked with creating a pattern range to be showcased at Joburg Fashion Week.
Option One: This range was inspired by Genesis 1:6-8. A merge between overly simplified idea of water (lines) with photography.
Option two: This range was inspired by Genesis 1:6-8. I went for a more illustrated "water" with photography.
Option 3: Inspired by some words the client used during briefing. Intergrating option one in the last iterations.
Option four: A mix of all the options with the Urban Zulu motif.
The client went with OPTION ONE, pattern 1.2.
